Transportation
Ege University Campus is located in the metropolitan district Bornova, and within easy reach from anywhere in the city. Public transport to Bornova consists mainly of the municipal network of the underground and the bus, on which fees can be paid with the pre-pay ticket Kentkart ('Citycard'). Basic fare on the underground and the buses is 2, 40 TRL for Kentkart holders. Privately owned minibuses and taxis can be used to reach the Campus as well.
From the Airport to Bornova
Arriving in Bornova by taking a taxi from the airport will cost around 90 TRL.
Alternatively, you can take the number 204 public bus, which costs 4TRL, and leaves the airport every hour. The final destination of the 204 public bus is Bornova Metro Station, from where you can take the metro to the Ege University Campus and Faculty of Letters (‘Ege Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi’ in Turkish). You can also take a five-minute taxi ride from Bornova Metro Station (which should cost around 9-10TRL) to Hotel Ege SaÄŸlık, and Ege University Guesthouse (‘Ege Üniversitesi Konukevi’).
Finally, you can take IZBAN from Adnan Menderes Airport to Halkapinar station where you will switch to the metro that will take you to Ege University Campus. The last station for the metro is EVKA-3 station.
From the Airport to the City Centre
Arriving in the city centre by taking a taxi from the airport will cost around 90 TRL. If you would prefer public transport, the number 202 public bus, which costs 4TRL, leaves the airport every hour. Alternatively, you can take a HavaÅŸ bus, which is a privately owned transportation company and runs scheduled buses from the airport to various locations in the city. From the City Centre to Bornova
Arriving in Bornova by taking a taxi from the city centre will cost around 25TRL. Alternatively you can take the number 63 public bus to Bornova, or the underground both of which cost 2TRL. The final destination of the 63 public bus is Evka-3 Metro Station, and theunderground has a stop in the Ege University Campus. The Faculty of Letters (‘Ege Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi’) is about 5 minutes walk from the Campus stop.
